GOVERNOR HILL MANSION, AUGUSTA

The Maine Women's Lobby Education Fund is excited to host the biennial Gender Justice Summit - a program that seeks to address the most pressing issue impacting gender equity in the moment.

This year’s event is Anger, Power, Action: Envisioning Our Shared Power, a look at how anger can harness power and joy can sustain us in taking action.

We look forward this year to bringing together communities from across Maine in order to learn from each other, explore our shared power, and discuss a path forward, while identifying policy solutions and ways to take action.

Throughout the day we will discuss some of these big themes, including the role of anger and other emotions in building individual and collective power; building bigger and broader teams to harness power at all levels; learning how joy can sustain action; and exploring frameworks to take action.

We’re thrilled to welcome a wide range of presenters to explore this theme, including keynote speaker, Rebecca Traister, acclaimed feminist journalist and author of the book “Good and Mad: The Revolutionary Power of Women’s Anger;” embodied equity cultural broker, René Goddess; and award winning author and poet Arisa White.

The Maine Gender Justice Summit is presented by the Maine Women’s Lobby Education Fund.
